I've ordered furniture - what happens next?
Valid for orders placed via the internet, IPAD, Browse and Order stations.
Thank you for buying your furniture from Marks and Spencer. We want to make sure you're completely happy with your choice, so we've provided the following information for you.
Furniture Terms & Conditions inc. returns:
  • Payment: All card transactions will be processed on the day you place your order.
  • -Will it fit? Remember to note your furniture's dimensions and check that it will fit into your house and into your chosen room. You may also need space should the specification of the product be for our delivery crew to build it in your home. If the product does not fit, it will be classed as a cancelled order and any costs will be incurred by you.
  • Delivery: Delivery of your furniture will be arranged with you in line with our delivery service team. If you wish to amend your delivery date, please contact our service team on(0044)01953886000.
  • Delays: Occasionally, the delivery of your furniture may be delayed or postponed. We will, of course, make every effort to keep you informed and discuss revised delivery timescales.
  • Cancellations and amendments: Should you need to change your order, please contact our service team on (0044) 3330 148 000. If you amend your order, you may find there are changes to your delivery timescales and/or the price you pay for the item(s) (you will be charged the current selling price on the day you amend the order). You have a legal right to cancel your order within 14 days after the day on which you received your goods. All items returned must be in a reasonable condition and there will be a collection charge (€75).
  • Furniture Disposal Service: This service must be ordered with your new product and cannot be ordered after you have placed your order. The product(s) will not be removed if infested, wet or heavily soiled. Where appropriate, the products must be disassembled prior to collection. The disposal service may not be cancelled or refunded.
  • Returns and refunds: Your M&S furniture has been manufactured to the highest possible standards. We recommend you look after it according to the care instructions provided. Once you have taken delivery of your furniture, we will only give refunds in accordance with your legal rights, for example, if the goods are not fit for purpose or as described. We reserve the right to apply a usage fee to all furniture which has been in use for over 1 year prior to the report of any fault. In the unlikely event that you have an issue with your furniture after delivery, we have a dedicated Furniture Customer Services team: Telephone number 1800 656 641. Opening times: Monday – Friday 8am to 9pm, Saturday 8am to 5pm and Sunday 9am to 5pm.
How can I measure to see if furniture will fit?
You’ll find the exact dimensions of each piece of furniture on the individual item description page. You should make a note of these to make sure your new furniture will fit through your doorways, hallways and up any stairs if necessary. If you’re replacing an existing piece of furniture, measure your existing furniture to calculate the difference in size.
You’ll need to allow extra space for some furniture:
  • Dining tables and chairs need at least 60-70cm extra so that the chairs can be pulled out.
  • Divans with drawers need at least 40cm on either side of the bed.
  • Recliners need 150-180cm to give them space to recline.

As we don’t have all furniture items in each store, we recommend you to contact the store first before visiting to ensure your item is available.
Who can I speak to about furniture after sales?
For furniture after sales and delivery queries, please call 1800 656 641 (lines open 8am-8pm Monday to Friday and 8am-5pm Saturday and Sunday).
Can I shop when you deliver my furniture order?
We're making it even easier to shop, by giving our furniture teams special shopping bags to carry with them. So, if you like, when we come to deliver your new furniture, we can pick up the clothes you no longer want at the same time. Just fill the bag and hand it back to the delivery team, and they'll take it away with them. Simple!
Can I change my furniture order?
If you placed your order online, you can change your order before it is processed in our warehouse – typically 48 hours before despatch. Log on to our website and click on “my account” or call 1800 656 641. If you want to add items, you will have to place a new order.
To amend a furniture order contact our Furniture Customer Services team on 1800 656 641. If you amend an order, the delivery time and quoted price may change.
Do M&S offer an interest free loan to pay for my furniture?
We currently do not provide interest free loan payment option.
Can I order a furniture item to take away from the store?
Furniture items ordered online or over the phone will need to be delivered to a ROI work or home address, not a store. Stores may occasionally have stock which can be taken away on the day of ordering.
Can I use cash/gift cards to pay for furniture?
You can only use Mastercard or Visa cards to purchase furniture online. Payment will be taken at the point of ordering.
