How can I write a product review?
If you have owned or used one of the products we currently sell online, you can write a review to help other customers make an informed buying decision. We value our customers’ views as they help us to improve our products. For full details please refer to our Terms & Conditions. We may update the Terms and Conditions from time to time, so please read them before posting.
Top Tips for writing a review
  • Remember this is a public forum, so we recommend that you give your reviews a Pen Name. Please note that you cannot change your pen name, and all your reviews will show the new Pen Name. You can delete your reviews at any time.
  • Reviews are limited to 1,000 characters and must be a minimum of 25 words in length.
  • Your review must be based on your experience of the product, explaining what you liked or disliked about it and why. Only review products you have owned, used or tried on.
  • Your review should be about the product: its features, characteristics and performance, not about any experience of purchasing or delivery.
  • Do not use CAPITAL LETTERS apart from in normal punctuation.
  • Do focus on information you think would help others decide whether to buy the product.
  • Please ensure you comply completely with the terms and conditions. M&S will not edit words or phrases – any review containing the smallest amount of unacceptable content will be rejected and not appear on the site.
  • Please consider how your comments could be received by others and please keep within the boundaries of the relevant topic.
Why wasn't my product review been posted?
There are 2 possible reasons:
  1. 1. We have up to 72 hours to moderate all reviews and post them on the website, so your review may still be pending.
  2. 2. Your review may have been rejected through the moderation process. If this is the case you would have received an email from us.
The following information provides the correct process for writing reviews in order to avoid your review being rejected.

What guidelines should I follow to create my pen name?
Please create your pen name so that it is between 4 to 25 characters long, doesn't include any spaces and do not use your real name.
If you've posted a review in the past but are prompted for a new pen name, you may need to enter a new unique one. This will be the pen name shown on all your future and past reviews, so you'll keep all of your review posts.
Why has my new pen name for reviewing products not been accepted?
You will be asked to create a new pen name if your current pen name is a duplicate or contains spaces or special characters. Don't worry, all your current reviews will be associated with your new pen name.
I would like to unsubscribe from ratings and reviews post purchase emails- how can I do this?
You can click to unsubscribe by following the link at the bottom of the email you have received. Please note that if you unsubscribe from ratings and reviews email, you will not be able to subscribe again to receive the emails, however you will still be able to review our products. How can I remove or report a product review that is inappropriate?
There is a 'report' button next to the review. Please use this to inform us of inappropriate reviews.
I received a ratings and reviews email but not all the items I have bought are included. I would like to review all of them, what do I do?
If the item you would like to review is not included in the email we have sent don't worry, you can still write a review by going to the product detail page on our website and clicking on 'write a review' underneath the product description.
Rules for Submissions
  • Please be polite and only write in English.
  • You confirm that the Submission is your own and that the content does not infringe the material, trade marks or intellectual property of others
  • If you require an immediate response from us or have a comment about our service please contact us directly for a quicker response Submissions should not include:
  • Profanity, blasphemy, spiteful, racist, sexually explicit, sexually gratuitous or discriminatory comments or content that might be considered to be harassment, abuse or threats against the personal safety or property of others
  • Comments about other reviewers or bloggers
  • Remarks that repeat criminal accusations, false, defamatory or misleading statements
  • Material which impersonates others
  • Spam or advertising
  • Third party brand names or trade marks
  • Personal information about anyone, including yourself, such as phone numbers, postal addresses or credit card numbers
  • HTML code, computer script or website urls
  • Availability, price or alternative ordering or delivery information
  • Information about Marks & Spencer suppliers or manufacturers
Marks & Spencer, in its absolute discretion, reserves the right to:
  • Not publish the Submission or remove it
  • Take any appropriate action if deemed necessary
  • Remove reviews which relate to seasonal products which are no longer in season
Please let us know if you see any Submissions which do not comply with our rules.
What are the Ratings & Reviews awards?
Our products are known for their quality and value, but don’t just take our word for it: trust the reviews of the people that matter the most - our customers. We want to reward those of you that offer the most feedback on our products. Our reward scheme means we will award a bronze star to anyone who has reviewed between 10 - 24 products, a silver star to those who have written between 25 - 49 reviews, and finally the exclusive gold star for our top users who have reviewed 50 products or more. So make the most of the products that have been rated by you.
